Whiston Hilly 11 TT - Tuesday 1st April 2014 Handicap Series Event 1 It was warm and fairly calm for the first Tuesday evening TT of the new club event season. A new course record by ex-member Liam Stones with a clear improvement on Sam Barkers time which has stood since April 2001, previous record 25m-16s. George Fox fastest club rider by a narrow margin from new member Neville Bradshaw, first timer on the Whiston course. as were club riders Oliver Bates who took 1st Handicap, Jon Dunkley took 2nd and Mike Bower 3rd, in the handicap section. Many thanks are also due to Rob Weall who put out the signs rode to third place and collected the signs in afterwards. And a returned a PB. Day 2 - Thursday 8th May
Day 2 of the Women's Tour , on Thursday 8th May, starts in Hinckley, at 11am, and ends in Bedford between 2:00-2:45pm.
The route will bring them directly through our riding territory, coming up Station Road hill Brixworth, which is marked as the QoM 2 hill climb. Then passing across Pitsford reservoir, Holcot, through to Sywell, Mears Ashby, Wilby, up Cut Throat Lane hill, to Great Doddington, then down Hardwater, across the valley to Wollaston, out to the Podington crossroads, right through Hinwick and along Dungee Road to Harrold, Carlton and Turvey........Plenty of places to watch the action........
